32-bit Version

Licenses for the 32-bit version of Gaussian 16W are available for both single computers and for an unlimited number of computers at a licensed site.

Recommended Minimum System Requirements

As is the case with all 32-bit Fortran applications, the 32-bit version of Gaussian 16W is limited to accessing at most 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of disk regardless of how much memory is available on the system. The 32-bit multiprocessor version of G16W is limited to 4 processors (or cores). The 32-bit version of G16W will run on 64-bit computer systems, albeit with the disk and memory limitations inherent to 32-bit applications.

    Processor: Intel Pentium 4, AMD Athlon, and later.
    Operating System:

      requirements for G16W alone: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2.
      requirements for G16W Cluster/Network Parallel versions: Microsoft Windows XP.

    Memory (RAM): 1 GB
    Disk: 1.7 GB (G16W storage); and 500 MB or more (scratch space)
    Other: CD-ROM drive; Mouse

64-bit Version

Single computer licenses as well as site-wide licenses are available for the 64-bit version of Gaussian 16W.

Recommended Minimum System Requirements

The 64-bit version of G16W is not limited in the number of processors (or cores) that can be accessed for shared memory parallel calculations. It does not have the 32-bit addressing limitations that the 32-bit G16W version has, so for all practical purposes, the 64-bit version of G16W can access an unlimited amount of memory and disk space.

    Processor: AMD64 or Intel64 (EM64T) system running supported 64-bit Windows version.
    Operating System:

      64-bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home, Premium, Professional, Ultimate, Windows 8, 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2.

    Disk: 1.5 GB (G16W storage); and 500 MB or more (scratch space)
    Other: CD-ROM drive; Mouse

TCP-Linda (Cluster/Network Parallel) Versions

Currently TCP-Linda, which is required for running calculations in parallel across a cluster/network of computers, is available only as a 32-bit application. The 32-bit version of G16W with TCP-Linda will not run in parallel using TCP-Linda on 64-bit Windows systems.

GaussViewW is a full implementation of GaussView for the Windows environment.

Windows products are generally available both as a single copy, shrink-wrap licensed version and as a site license requiring a signed license agreement.
